WE ARE EXTREMELY LOW ON SNACKS! I KNOW SOMETIMES WE FORGET, BUT PLEASE CHECK THE CALENDAR FOR YOUR CHILD'S SNACK DAY! THIS DAY IS NOT ONLY THEIR DAY TO PROVIDE, BUT IT IS ALSO THEIR DAY TO BE HELPER, LINE LEADER, AND THEY ALSO GET TO HAND OUT THEIR SNACK! IN KINDERGARTEN, THAT IS A BIG DEAL TO MOST OF THESE KIDDOS!

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day celebration is on Friday, February 12th. We will be decorating a bag to hold all of our Valentine's in to take home. If you would like to send in Valentine cards with your child, we have 24 students in our class! THIS IS NOT MANDATORY!

Please have your child write his/her name on the FROM portion of the cards and leave the TO portion blank PLEASE! This will save us a lot of time when putting cards into their take home bags!

It is only a half day, so if you would like to send in a cute goody bag for your child to hand out, that would be fine. We will make sure each child gets one.

100th Day Mystery Bag

Today, I sent home a brown paper sack with a note attached! If your child wants to participate, they can bring in their mystery bag filled with 100 items (they MUST be the same thing, not 100 different items). The items must be small enough to fit in that little brown sack!

You will write THREE clues on the paper that is attached! During our celebration, the class will take turns guessing what is in the bag! Please send them in no later than the morning of the celebration!

100th Day Idea: T-shirt!

Our 100th Day party will be soon approaching. As of right now, it is scheduled for February 3rd , 2016. We have been counting up to this celebration all year. All day long we will celebrate being 100 days smarter! We will make 100th day necklaces, write 100 words, count 100 objects, make 100 year old portraits and much, much more!

The best part of our day: ice cream sundaes!

I will purchase ice cream and any extras that aren't donated! THANK YOU SO MUCH to those that have sent items in for our special day!

I cannot wait to celebrate with your children. This is, by far, my favorite day of the year!!!

To help make this day super fun, I offer this idea to families: make a 100the day shirt!

In the years past, students have written 100 words on a t-shirt with puff paint or markers, glued sequins on a shirt, sewn 100 buttons on a shirt, 100 band-aids, even stuck on 100 stickers! Get creative! Have fun! Not everyone will do this...but the children who wear them make our day just a little more interesting. It's their own "show-n-tell" for the day.

Blending can be fun! Ask your child to show you blending done with their arms! They are PRO at this technique!

THIS WEEK WE MADE SOME REALLY NEAT MATH TOOLS TO USE DURING OUR ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION WORK. THE KIDS ARE REALLY ENJOYING THEM AND I AM FINDING THEY ARE HELPING TREMENDOUSLY!
