Teacher Appreciation Week
We're in this together
From Mrs. Hennessey, School Counselor
May is Mental Health Month and today is Children's Mental Health Day:
Please utilize and share the following resources as needed to support those you care about and your own mental health. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, your child's teacher, or Mr. Amerson for any support that you need for your child, family, or yourself. You are important and it is okay to ask for help if you need it.
Take Care,
Carrie Hennessey
From the SEL Team
Bryant has a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Team who works together to offer additional support to our students and staff. This team includes Speech and Language Pathologist - Mary Balcer, Special Education Teachers and Interventionists - Amanda Van Damme & Teri Thatcher, and School Counselor - Carrie Hennessey. Here is an added message from them:
This week's focus is to find your ground. We all have different strategies that we use to calm ourselves down in an overwhelming situation. Feel free to try some of the strategies in the visuals below.
Thank You,
The Bryant SEL Team

At-Home Projects
Mother's Day is coming up this Sunday. Show your moms, aunts, grandmothers, or other important ladies in your life that you appreciate them. Are there items around the house that you can use to make them something special? Or what could you do to help brighten their day? Here is a fun activity to try making a flower bouquet out of coffee filters.
What you will need:
- Coffee filters
- Washable markers
- Scissors
- Tape
- Spray Bottle (optional)
- Something to use as a stem (pipe cleaners, or even sticks from outside)
1: Flatten the round filter and color with marker
2: Place filter on the grass outside or on something inside that you don't mind getting messy
3: Mist the filters with water, or use your hands to lightly sprinkle water on them
4: Watch the magic happen as the colors blend and swirl
5: Set aside to dry
6: Once it's dry, you can fold them up to round the corners with a scissors if you'd like
7: Twist the center together and scrunch up until you get the flower the way you'd like it, you can even use more than one filter to make it extra full
8: You may want to use tape on the center just to keep it together
9: Tape the twisted center to your stem
Make more than one to create a beautiful bouquet.
