Grading Smarter, Not Harder
MAC Reads Book Study 2017
Host a Regional Book Study!
MAC Reads 2016-17 will feature Myron Dueck's book, Grading Smarter, not Harder: Assessment Strategies that Motivate Kids and Help Them Learn. The MAC is looking for regional study group sites--it's an easy and effective way to bring professional learning about assessment to your region.
Regionally hosted Book Study Groups may use a variety of formats to dialog about key ideas in the book, reflect on district and individual practice, and formulate questions for the author, Myron Dueck.
Possible book Study formats include
- face-2-face meetings
- online meetings/chats,
- a blend of f2f and virtual.
Formats are determined by the regional MAC Reads sponsoring agency and facilitator. To culminate the book study, all regional Book Study Groups will gather at their central location to participate in the real time webinar with the author on March 2, 2017. The webinar will also be archived for viewing/use at a later date.
Genesee Intermediate School District, in collaboration with the Michigan Assessment Consortium and Edupaths, is pleased to host this online book study as one of the sites for MAC Reads 2017.
