News and Events You Can Use
Resource Officer Day
Wednesday, September 15th was National School Police Officer Appreciation Day. The #RidgeviewUnited community is so fortunate to have the daily support and presence of Officer Shanika Cole. Give her some love the next time you see her!
Scientific Research
Ms. Early's high school physical science class tested common household substances using various pH indicators to find pH, a conductivity meter to find conductivity, and magnesium metal to find out if a reaction occurred. The results identified these substances as an acid or a base. Students then used patterns in data collected for knowns to identify an unknown as an acid or base.
Board Member Visit
Our new district 3 school board member Katie Gregory visited Ridgeview on Friday. Students demonstrated their AVID 3-ring binder organizational system, music from our band and orchestra classes, and a science lab that our high school level students were completing. We’re glad to welcome Ms. Gregory to our school board — and thanks for visiting our Ridgeview United community.

Annual FCS Parent Perception Survey
Please help Ridgeview get feedback by taking the Annual Parent Perception Survey between February 13 and March 10. Responses to the survey will help the district make improvements to our schools, and will provide important data for the development of our new strategic plan. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10 minutes to complete. Parents are asked to complete one survey per school where they have one or more students enrolled. Additionally, students in grades 4-12 will take the Annual Student Perception Survey between February 13 and February 24 during the school day. This survey is also anonymous and confidential.
RCMS Wants SGC Candidates
The window for parents and teachers to declare candidacy for their school’s School Governance Council (SGC) opened on February 1, 2023. During this time, individuals interested in serving a 2-year term (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025) will need to complete a Candidate Declaration Form which will be available on the Charter System Website. The declaration window will close on March 24, 2023. Interested parents and teachers can click here to access requirements for candidacy. Voting will take place in late March with additional information to come about the process soon. See the SY2023 SGC Elections Guide for more information and council resources related to SGC Elections. The Governance Team is currently working to develop additional elections materials for schools including posters, handouts, lawn signs, etc. These materials will be sent out near the end of the month and should arrive at schools in early February for your teams to use to promote elections.
