Special Addition: End of Year Assessments
Mission: A place where everyone pursues their greatness.
Vision: A community coming together for our kids.
We have kicked off Quarter 4 - and as many of you know, it is "Show What You Know" season. As students finish the last weeks of the school year, we will have many assessments that are required from K-6 for the state and district.
Our school community believes this is a crucial moment of partnership. While tests do not define our school success, it IS a piece that help us show evidence of the hard work and proficiency of our students. WE NEED YOUR HELP AS FAMILIES SO THAT STUDENTS CAN GIVE THEIR BEST!
Included in this SPECIAL ADDITION NEWSLETTER, you will find helpful information including schedules, assessment details, and tips for your child! Our team has created a plan for the remainder of the year. It includes: State Assessment info (Grades 3-6), MAP assessment info (Grades 1- 6), and Acadience (Grades Kindergarten-6).
Please check the calendar for your child's testing dates. It is helpful that you child is in attendance on the date and time their grade level is testing. Please avoid any appointments or absences during this time when possible. This allows your child to test with their teacher, peers, or in the environment they are most comfortable. It also allows them not to miss any other instruction at a later time to make-up the assessment.
Dates are subject to change, but we are hoping to remain consistent to this schedule. Your child's teacher will communicate with you with more information and can also answer any questions. Thanks for your support during this time and giving students the best opportunity to show their success and growth this year!

Does your child struggle with testing anxiety?
"Show What You Know" season can create anxiety in many students. As a school community, we work to prepare our students and support them in ways to be successful. For more ideas for how to support at home as well, visit the website below for a brief article: "6 Test Anxiety Strategies for Elementary Students." Also, reach out to your child's teacher or Mrs. Pyle if you are needing additional help. We strive to support ALL students with social emotional needs each day!

Mints, Snacks, and Testing Item Support
If you are willing to provide some healthy snacks to ensure students are able to properly focus during their testing, we would appreciate it! We also are in need of some boxes of Gallon Ziploc bags.
Please deliver your items to the front office ASAP. We are in the process of bagging items and preparing for testing dates.
Thank you in advance for your support, as this is an opportunity for students to share and "show what they know." It is also a way for our community to come together and support ALL STUDENTS.
