Copyright is a set of rights that are granted to you once you create a tangible piece of work.
These include permission to use software, music, picture, or a video.
Licenses
There are 5 types of licenses
1 Public Domains
Public domains are not protected by copyright laws or their laws have expired; Moby Dick
2 Freeware
It is a Copyright License however it is being given away; Google
3 Shareware
You get a free trial but then you have to pay for the full version; Lite games
4 All Rights Reserved
Most restricted type of copyright as well as the most common you need permission to use it outside of the license; A brand new Movie
5 Open Source
Allows viewing of the source code with hopes of improvement; Google Chrome
