Videos about Inclusion and Celebrating Differences
Below are some amazing videos I was able to view this summer. Much of my professional development this summer was about students with IEPs and individualizing learning for students with special needs. There is some amazing work happening out there.
A couple of take aways:
1. If students need it make it an IEP goal
2. Use strength based goals. This is happening in 5 states. I am learning more about this work.
3. Scaffolds versus tools - we often put a scaffold in place that isn't removed and then becomes something the student depends on. Tools are permanent.
4. Important to develop a communication tool between Special Ed Team and Gen Ed teachers.
