CHILDREN INSPIRE ME TO DO MY BEST
KNOWLEDGE OPEN UP AN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITIES!
Hello classmates and Instructor Cynthia Beckett,
My name is Debra. I have six children, three boys, and three girls. I have been happily married to my husband Tommy for Thirty years. My husband still takes me out on dates just I like he did when he first started dating me. Tommy and I are proud grandparents of five grandchildren. Three grandsons and two granddaughters and they all have big personalities. We’re expecting a new granddaughter in June. I have been severing God for over twenty – six years. That has been the best decision I have ever made.
When I first started my classes at Ashford University, I was inspired to complete my AA Degree in Early Childhood Development with the hope to become a Program Supervisor, Education Coordinator or Director. Having 30 credits in ECE has given me the opportunity to work at Tomorrow’s Hope Child Development Center as their Program Supervisor. I am so blessed to be working on my dream. Prior to that, I worked as a Preschool Teacher at Bright Horizons from 2008 to April 14, 2015. As a preschool teacher, I provide a safe and learning environment for preschoolers. So I have to say I feel bless. However, I have to admit my new job has been challenging.
As a Program Supervisor, I am more a mentor for the staff of twenty- five women. This can be challenging to balance. Role modeling and support children is less of a challenging for me. However, I do understand if I create healthy and happy staff, I directly create a healthy environment for my children. . At this current time, I am a few steps ahead of my goals. Therefore, I have been considering getting my BA degree in Early Childhood Education and Administration .
Look forward getting to know you all through our interaction on the discussion board. I wish you all the best!
