Beck Bulletin "Excellence For All"
Oct. 1, 2018
Principal's Message
Dear Beck Families,
We have just wrapped up the first 6 weeks and Parent-Teacher conferences will be held the week of Oct. 8th. This is going to be a wonderful time to ask questions about your child's progress and their personal learning goals. Each student has strengths to celebrate and opportunities for growth. We invite you to spend some time visiting with them about their progress, and encouraging them to value the learning process and the effort required to be successful.
As you are aware, we are committed to the True Blue Way. This is our belief that students success is not only measured by their academic accomplishments, but also by the character they demonstrate. We believe strongly in developing the whole child, therefore you will see a continued focus on academics, character education, and social/emotional learning. As a result, these are attributes we will be recognizing at our 6 weeks and semester awards beginning next 6 weeks.
For more information on social emotional learning click here.
We are extremely proud of our students and look forward to all that they will accomplish in the coming weeks.
Always True Blue,
S. Conklin, Ed.D.
Principal
Volunteers Needed
Destination Imagination Coaches Needed!
Destination Imagination is a volunteer-led organization that teaches "21st century" skills and STEM principles to students through collaborative problem solving challenges. Students have the opportunity to participate at the regional level, and qualify for State and Global Competitions. We have several students interested in participating, but will not be able to have this great experience if we do not have coaches. If you are interested in coaching a DI team, or want more information, please contact Mrs. Pickett at 817-215-0450 or spickett@nisdx.org
