5th Grade Band 2016-2017
September 9th, 2016
Welcome!
Thank you for registering your children for band. It is going to be a great experience for them and I am very excited to get started! So far, we have nearly 80% of the entire class registered for band- very exciting.
Lessons Begin Next Week
Students received their lesson schedules in class today. Please click the links below to see the lesson groups and the schedule. I did not have enough time to talk through the schedule with each student, so I would ask that you please help your son or daughter find their lesson group and lesson time. Please let me know if you have any questions.
The lesson schedule will always be live on our website if you would like to bookmark the link.
What you should be doing before the first lesson
Practice your instruments! The links to our first lesson videos are below. Video #1 shows you how to put the instrument together and Video #2 shows you how to play the first song. I have heard overwhelmingly positive things today from the students that have started practicing their instruments!
Flute Oboe Clarinet Saxophone Trumpet Trombone Baritone Tuba Percussion
If You are Missing Anything after Registration
Due to high demand, our music store Quinlan and Fabish did not have enough instruments and supplies for everybody last night. If you ordered your instrument and/or supplies last night but did not receive them, they will be shipped to Schiesher early next week. I am hoping that everything will be delivered on Monday so that everybody can have what they need when lesson start on Tuesday.
If you still need a music book or supplies and would rather just purchase them on your own, there are several great music stores in the area that will have what you need.
Band Source- 2309 Maple Avenue in Downers Grove
Naperville Music- 636 E. Ogden Avenue in Naperville
Quinlan and Fabish- 6827 High Grove Boulevard in Burr Ridge
If you have any questions about what exactly you need, send me an e-mail and I would be more than happy to assist you.
