Why Celebrate?

Your kiddos rocked their iReady end-of-year assessments. I cannot express how happy I am with their hard work and effort! Seriously!! We need, and want, to recognize their growth and celebrate their learning. When I review their scores, I look to make sure kids met the year progress (19 points in reading; 22 points in math). We had amazing results!! In reading, 18 out of 20 meet the growth goal; the 2 made growth...even as close as 1 point away!! I will be meeting and conferencing with these students to let them know just how close they are to the goal. In math, 12 of 20 blew us out of the water. Everyone made progress, and several were close to the 22 point goal. So close!! Regardless, we want to celebrate their amazing growth.

We will celebrate Friday, April 22, 2016. This is the Friday before we start MAP testing.

So, here is the deal. If each student brings $5, then we will have enough $$ to cover the expenses of a pizza party. This also ensures 2 pizzas of a large pizza. We will have some left overs, so we can cut the remaining pieces in half if kids are still hungry. Also, kids may bring applesauce, apples, oranges, carrots, chips, or whatever side kids want to bring from home to go with their pizza. Lastly, they can bring a drink of choice! Celebrating our iReady success before the kick off of MAP testing will hopefully give them the courage and confidence to put forth their best efforts on MAP. (It's win:win.)

Please send money by Wednesday, April 20.
