Room 110 News
December 17, 2014
Dear Families:
Your students have had unbelievable focus during this week of publishing their fiction stories. They are dedicated writers, and have been working hard to show off their best work! Our Winter Publishing Extravaganza will be this Friday, 12/19 starting at 12:45 ish. The kids will be reading aloud their stories, and singing some holiday songs to celebrate the season. Please join us if you can.
There will not be a homework packet this week or over the break. Instead, I will be sending home an OPTIONAL reading challenge for the break on Friday. If students complete the challenge they will be invited to have lunch in the classroom (date to be determnined) and I will bring a treat to share (students should still bring their lunch, or get school lunch).
In January, the Math Super Stars worksheets will resume. Students will have the option of taking them home on Wednesday with their homework packet (In an attempt to save paper I will not include them in the homework packet). They will be due the same day as homework. They can earn stars for correctly completing the worksheets as independently as they can. At the end of the year we'll have some kind of yet to be decided reward for kids who participated consistently and gave great effort on the Math Super Stars worksheets.
I hope everyone has a restful winter break. I am one lucky teacher to have a class this spectacular, and families as supportive as you have been this year! Thank you, Happy New Year, and see you in 2015!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at: susannereed@berkeley.net
Thank you,
Susanne Reed
