"On Broadway"
This week's homework is to make a kite to use for one of the songs. We would love to have these at school for Wednesday's dress rehearsal.
Please ask if you have any questions!
KINDERGARTEN zoo
We are getting our kindergarten zoo up and running this week. Our incubator is ready to add eggs to tomorrow (Thank you Todd!) If anyone has access to a frog pond at home, we'd love a scoop of pond water with tadpoles for observation. Our caterpillars are in the mail and should arrive soon. The kids have been on the hunt at school for insects and are welcome to bring any that they find at home. The rule is that they need to release them in the same place they found them after one day of observations. If all goes well with the eggs, we should have some baby chicks in about 21 days. We'll get to watch the miracle of butterflies emerging from their cocoons. And, of course, all our little monkeys are growing and changing every day. (they’re my favorites)
Spartan 100
You may have heard your child talk about our school's running club. SPARTAN 100 is a super fun way for the kids to get exercise at recess. 6 laps around the blacktop area of the playground is one mile. Our kindergarten class has great participation despite all the rain. Keep up the great work!
Language Arts
Our writing work this week will be to write some short animal riddles, ending with the question "What am I?"
God's Time--WWJD
Our God's Time story this week is called, "We Listen to Jesus." After hearing stories about our loving Father, we'll play a game called What Would Jesus Do? We'll try answering that familiar phrase in response to several situations. We'll also try it out during the week at recess and in the classroom to see how useful it can be to ask ourselves that simple question when dealing with friends or when conflicts arise.
