Job description: "
Support, analyze and improve the cleaning, metal joining and lab/pilot scale test equipment processes. Test, identify and make material recommendations for Ashcroft products that meet or exceed industry standards, customer expectations and company quality and performance requirements. Provide assistance to Support and Development Engineering when developing new products or improving existing products. Work with Engineering, internal Supply Chain and suppliers to identify required materials and support changes for all Ashcroft products. Support the Materials, and Test Lab Engineering Manager and Critical Application Solutions Experts (CASE) with other projects, such as RoHS, REACH and general product testing."
Responsibilities:Improve and support cleaning processes and equipment including "cleaning for oxygen service"
Support joining process (welding, brazing, and soldering) and maintain qualification records. Make improvements and troubleshoot processes.
Develop lab/pilot scale test equipment using pumps, pipe/tubing, tanks, etc. to simulate processes and verify performance.
Proactively identify test materials on Ashcroft products to ensure industry standards and Ashcroft requirements.
Identify and recommend appropriate materials to meet standards.
Work with materials group and vendors to specify and receive samples of required parts and materials.
Set up, adjust and operate test lab equipment to ensure materials meet Ashcroft's quality standards.
Assist Engineering and Global Product Leaders with material identification and selection.
Work closely with Quality Assurance to develop and approve test plans.
Work as part of a team to analyze data, determine root causes and develop solutions.
Remain current on industry and material standards and changes that may affect product lines and material supply.
Provide support for Critical Application Solution Experts (CASE), field returns and test lab including report development and analysis.
Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials Engineering or Applied Science discipline
1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment—co-op experience a plus
Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools, ovens, lab equipment, etc.
Working knowledge of general manufacturing processes
Ability to create, revise and read engineering drawings, as well as basic SolidWorks/CAD experience
