Recognizes LISD Staff Members
Do you know that our Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp initiated a new acknowledgement program for all LISD staff members this school year? Anyone can honor or thank any staff member by simply going to lisd.net/Recognize. Each recognition will be viewed by Dr. Rapp and a nice commemorative card will be generated with the statement and author printed on it and then presented to staff members throughout the school year. Thank you for your consideration in taking the time to submit recognitions this way.

LISD Families,
Safety and security continues to be a top priority for our district. LISD has had anonymous reporting procedures in place for years, and the district is now making it even easier for students and the community to make an anonymous tip.
The LISD community now has access to STOPit, an anonymous reporting system that allows individuals to submit concerns at any time, from anywhere. This program is accessible online and via a mobile app. The app will be added to all student devices and teachers and campus administrators will continue throughout the semester to ensure students are aware of the new reporting method and know how to use it. Keep reading for additional details and to download the app.
How can I access STOPit?
- Online | Visit STOPitsolutions.com.
- Mobile App | The app is available on all district-issued student devices. Download the app on your personal device by searching STOPit in the Apple or Android app stores.
How does this program work?
When a student submits a tip, representatives from both their campus and from the LISD Safety & Security department will be alerted through the STOPit system. Though this is anonymous, personnel can interact directly with the student to learn more about a given situation in real time.
STOPit also includes an Incident Response Center with certified specialists who monitor tips 24/7, 365 days of the year. In the case of a life-threatening situation, these individuals will alert LISD officials and/or 911 as needed.
Does this replace LISD’s current reporting systems?
For the remainder of the 2022-23 school year, STOPit will operate concurrently with all campus cell phone tip lines. The cell phone tip lines will be discontinued at the start of the 2023-24 school year.
We hope that the addition of STOPit will make it even easier for students to submit suspicious or concerning behavior. To learn more about LISD’s additional Safety & Security procedures, visit LISD.net/safety. If you have any questions about the STOPit system, please contact your campus administrator.
At LISD, the safety and security of your child is our top priority. Thank you for partnering with us to keep all students and staff safe.
PTA NEWS
Rally Day
Rally Day is coming! The Lewisville ISD Council of PTAs will be taking two buses down to Austin on February 27, 2023, and we want you to come too!
Rally Day is a chance for PTAs all over the state to come together and support and celebrate Texas PTA with their legislative priorities for the year. The more members PTA has, the more powerful their voice when it comes to laws that affect our teachers and students. Rally Day is a chance to show our legislators in Austin a physical demonstration of just how powerful Texas PTA's voice can be.
More details will be forthcoming, but we'd LOVE to take two busloads of parents, students, teachers, administrators, community members, and anyone else who would like a chance to participate in a powerful demonstration of PTA's dedication to all kids.
If you are interested and would like more information as it becomes available, please sign up here.
Any questions, please feel free to reach out to Michelle Alkhatib, at advocacy@lisdpta.org.
February Lunch Coverage Volunteers
February's PTA sponsored lunch coverage is coming up on Friday, Feb 10th! Once a month the PTA provides volunteers to cover the students' lunch periods (30 minute time slots) so that our amazing teachers can enjoy some well deserved time together. This month we are covering lunch on Friday because the teachers are holding their annual "Super Bowl" lunch to celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl LVII. This is a great opportunity to help show appreciation to our teachers. There are time slots for each grade level - including Discovery Academy and Pre-K! *Reminder* you must have a current background check with LISD through VOLY to volunteer.
