5th Grade News:
I am BEYOND excited to be your child's teacher this year. This year the 5th grade will be team teaching. I will be the homeroom teacher and will be teaching Reading, Math, and the extra class will be Writing. Mr. Lewis will be teaching Social Studies and Miss Pershall will be teaching Science. Everyday the students will rotate through all three courses. Our class will start out the day together by learning math, move into rotating through science, then to social studies, and back to me for writing. We will then take a break for recess and lunch, then meet up again and finish our time together learning Reading. The students will end the day going to Specials. It is going to be a fun year and I can't wait to see how the students learn and grow academically and as young men and women!

Meet Miss D!
Hello!
Parents, it is going to be a wonderful year and like I said before, I am so excited to be teaching your kids! I was born and raised in the small town of Purcell, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors in Education. I have been blessed to work at Overholser Elementary going on three years!
My favorite subject, well, it's a tie! I equally love Math and Writing! I love the puzzle of figuring out a math problem. I also really like to find different ways of teaching problems and solving them using different methods. I love to write because it lets my ideas come to life! It's fun to me to bring details and characters to the story or essay. (Let's be honest, I also LOVE to read, but I like math and writing just a touch more!)
Some of my favorite things are the Sooners, banana pudding, New York City, traveling, skiing, Dr. Pepper, concerts, and hanging with my friends and family.
That's me in a nutshell! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Below is where you can reach me!
