Enter PTA Reflections ’22-‘23 Competition Now!
Looking for a new way to amp up your high school resume? Does being recognized with an award for your creativity get you excited? Look no further! The theme for this year’s PTA Reflections competition is “Show Your Voice!” and you can create art, dance, music, film, photography, or writing to reflect that theme.
The competition is open to any 9th-12th grade student. A winner will be chosen for each category for each grade - so your chances of being selected are very high! Winners will go on to compete against other high school winners for cash prizes.
The CHS deadline to enter is Thursday, October 13. Entries can be dropped off in the CHS Media Center. For information or questions, contact Wendy McBay, at 770-312-0257. View previous award winners here for ideas: www.PTA.org/Reflections/Awards.
Bring Food/Candy to School
As we approach Halloween, Thanksgiving and other winter holidays, we would like to remind that you no student is allowed to bring and distribute food, candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought or homemade) or any other edible items to school without the explicit permission of a teacher or administrator. Students who bring these items and/or distribute these items without permission will receive discipline for Student Code of Conduct violation 7A: Failure to Follow Rules and all food/candy items will be confiscated. Please know that this expectation is to keep all students safe.
In order to keep yourself safe, please never eat or consume anything given to you by another student or person, anything you have not brought from your home or anything that is not in its original sealed package. This is due to recent national and state reports about students sharing edible items and synthetic medications with other students that contain very harmful substances.
Thank you for doing your part in keeping yourself and others safe at school.
A reminder to our 11th-grade students, National Merit Scholarships are determined by a student's 11-grade administration of the PSAT. We encourage all students to be in attendance.
Seniors will have an asynchronous student day on that date.
