COVID INFORMATION
STUDENT DRIVERS
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS
- Hats and head coverings- The code of conduct states, 'hats and head coverings are not permitted.' Students will not be permitted to wear hats or head coverings in the school building. Hat passes will not be an option in the PBIS store and hats will not be permitted during spirt week. In the event that students are unhappy with these guidelines, we will encourage them to become agents of change in a positive and productive way. I would encourage you to support your child in sharing their voice in a respectful way, i.e. write a letter to administration, schedule a meeting with the principal/superintendent, attend a board meeting for public comment, etc...
- Dress Code- Currently, the dress code states that student dress should be safe, appropriate, and not disrupt the educational process. Private parts and undergarments must be covered by outer clothing. No see through clothing is permitted. Clothing may not include vulgar or obscene messages or promote inappropriate behaviors. If a student has a dress code violation, a staff member will discreetly and respectfully ask them to change. If a student does not have clothes to change into, Rachel's Closet will be available to the student. The expectation will be that the student becomes in compliance with the dress code. If not, contact home will be made.
- Cell Phones- We have a red, yellow, green zone system in place for cell phone use. Red zone areas (no cell phones allowed) include bathrooms, locker rooms, and hallways. Yellow zone areas (teacher directed cell phone use) are primarily the classroom environment. Green zone areas (cell phone use permitted) include the cafeteria, bus, and study hall. The ultimate goal is for our students to use the technology available to them responsibly. Teachers will have varying expectations from classroom to classroom and it is the responsibility of students to follow those expectations.
FIRST WEEK- HOMEROOM TIME
- On the first day, students will arrive and go straight to homeroom. In homeroom, they will receive a copy of their most up to date schedule.
- To support our students social emotional learning, as well as academics, teachers will be using a new resource during homeroom called Wayfinder. These activities will support our students in the areas of adaptability, self-awareness, collaboration, empathy, agency, and purpose.
- Students will need to turn in their Device User Agreement in order to be given their 1:1 device. These will be distributed in homeroom. Homeroom teachers will have additional copies if needed.
- Student agendas will be distributed on the first day.
