Celebration of Learning and the Carousel
We use these often to celebrate the learning of different Ministry projects. For instance, right now there are Ministry Projects EPCI, iCLIPSS and CILM. Each of these have a "Celebration of Learning" which is an event for all schools within the board that have taken part in the project to come together and share their journey. We can examine the different pathways that they have taken, hear student voice from the project, and look at some great questions that allowed the projects to move forward. Many times we use technology to share the student learning. It is basically a celebration of the learning that has taken place.
The Carousel is similar, and we make sure that we have time to "carousel" through each of the projects to better understand them.
I've done similar "Celebrations" at the end of Poetry units with my class, where we invite parents in so my little poets can share their work. They are able to read aloud poems to all of the parents if they are interested, and they can shared their writing porfolio with all of their favourite poems. I'm sure this could be modified for reading as well.
