Cheer
Advisor: Stephanie Carillo
"Give me an A." Our Lancer cheerleaders are rocking the gym. The intensity for school spirit is growing every time our cheer team takes the floor to perform or lead the crowd in a favorite Lancer Cheer. Get ready, they will be performing at the upcoming Winter Sport Assembly.
Soccer
Coaches: Girls: Andrew Hobbs
Boys: Martin Leyva
The girls soccer team celebrated a 5-2 win over LaQuinta on Saturday. They are looking to defend their League Title this year as they will play the first home league game at Joe Machado Field on Tuesday (4:30pm) against Connelly. Then they travel to Desert Christian this Friday and Saturday for a Tournament. Please encourage them to keep up the spirit and pride. This is a team with high expectations and are eager to feel the success of a repeat championship.
The LaQuitna boys sailed into town Saturday with a more competitive boys team. The game ended in a 2-2 tie as the play was competitive and very intense. This was the first close match for the boys as the league game against TVT was postponed on Thursday due to weather. This years team is rich with experience and they hope to improve from last years season by making playoffs and competing for a league title. Unfortunately they are away this week, Friday @ Southlands Christian. So, Save the Date ,they return home Friday, Dec. 14 vs. Wildwood.
Basketball
Coaches: Girls: David Hart, Rebekah Rudd
Boys: Steve Hall, Joe Montano
The girls battled a more experienced team from Covina High School on Friday and Saturday in a Home double-header. Although the team came up short on the scoreboard, fans enjoyed a very competitive effort from the Lady Lancers and all could see success as the team is growing in experience and shows progress in their play intensity and execution of both offensive and defensive strategies. Wish them well and continued growth as they take on league rival Samueli Academy this Saturday at 10:00 am.
Over the Weekend our Boys Varsity marked one in the win column by beating AGBU 39-34. The team is much improved and looks to build upon last years growth with more experience and a drive to improve each game regardless of the competition. They travel this Tuesday to St. Michaels and Friday to Aciawood. They return home Friday, Dec. 14 vs. Wildwood. Boys JV found success in their tournament at Antelope Valley. They went 2-2 over the weekend and look forward to their next home game vs. Wildwood on the 14th.
