Alpha Delta Kappa Month
Beta Xi -- October 2014 Newsletter
Theme: Stick to What Matters Most.
At this year's state convention, each person received a card with this quote; "Friendship is like a good chocolate chip cookie." I'm so grateful for the friendship of all of our Beta Xi sisters. Yes, friends do give you a warm feeling inside like a fresh out-of-the-oven cookie.
We are all important to one another. When we stick together, we can accomplish so much.

We need your help with Teachers' Recognition at Opelika City Schools this Tuesday.
If you read Betty Letlow's email to you with Sept.'s chapter minutes, you know that we have a project coming up on Tues., Oct. 14, at Betty's home at 10am. We are going to take a bottle of water to each of the teachers at the schools with a label that says "Have a TEA -riffic year!"
We need 560 bottles of water. If each of our 18 members brings a 32 water bottle package (16 oz.) to Betty's on or before the 14th, that will be 18 X 32 or 576 bottles. The bottles need to be in a cardboard box to make them easier for us to carry as we deliver. Plus we need each member to bring 30 individual TEA packets (they come 10 to a box usually) of some flavor of tea by Crystal Lite or similar tea product. Kroger has this water for $3.69.
All available members, who can help attach labels & tea with packaging tape to the bottles, need to meet at Betty's on the 14th at 10:00. We will deliver after that. Betty's address is 806 Forestdale Court (745-6694).

Assisting Hostess Carolyn as Co-Hostesses will be Jerry Barber, Dian Coulter, Pat May, & Kay Spriggs. Fraternity Education Chairman Rie Bagwell and Co-Chair Pat May have planned a program for us.

A quorum of nine members is required to transact business at Beta Xi Chapter meetings according to our Chapter By-Laws. Thank you, Beta Xi, for always having good attendance that exceeds our quorum.

It's still true.
We ended last month's meeting by saying, "The most beautiful curve on a woman's body is her smile." Remember to share your smile with someone who needs a friendly face.
