How to use Food Labels!
-In packaged foods, use the nutrition facts label as a tool.
-Check for calories, added sugars, trans fats, sodium and saturated fats.
-look at the serving size to see how much you are actually going to consume. For example, if you eat double the serving size of an item then double the amount of calories you are consuming.
What not to do.
- Stay away from foods with added sugar. Make sure to check the ingredient list for names that have added sugars.
