We will be out of school on Monday, January 20th in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21st and 22nd for teacher workdays.

NC Check-Ins
The second round of NC Check-Ins are coming next week. Third, Fourth and Fifth grade students will take the math check in this Tuesday, January 14th. The reading Check-In for Fourth and Fifth Grade will be on Wednesday, January 15th. Please make sure that your student gets a good night’s sleep, eats a good breakfast and gets to school on time so that they are poised to do their best.
These assessments are used to inform instruction and will not be reflected in the students classroom grade. A report will be sent home showing the students’ progress when they are available.
La segunda ronda de NC Check-Ins es la próxima semana. Los estudiantes de tres, cuarto y quinto grado tomarán el examen de matemáticas este martes 14 de enero. End of the 2nd Quarter/Fin del segundo trimestre
This Friday, January 17th is the End of the 2nd Quarter. Report cards for the second quarter will be coming home with all students on January 29th.

Stakeholder Input Meetings/Reuniones de participación de partes interesadas
As you may know, Chatham County Schools is constructing a new high school on Seaforth Road. The projected opening for Seaforth High School is in the fall of 2021. Seaforth will possibly serve a portion of students who are presently assigned to North Chatham Elementary. An integral part of the complex process of establishing the attendance zone for Seaforth High School is to hold Stakeholder Input Meetings. Here is the schedule of meetings;
1/28 (Tuesday) Moncure School
2/6 (Thursday) Pollard Middle
2/11 (Tuesday) Northwood HS
2/20 (Thursday) Horton Middle
All meetings will start at 6:30 pm and will be finished between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. "
The meeting agenda will consist of presenting stakeholders with data on the current and future Chatham County Schools enrollment and information related to the design/construction/opening of Seaforth High School. Stakeholders will be given an opportunity to weigh in on needed information for the Board of Education to consider. Presenters will be from the Operations Research and Educational Laboratory (OREd) from NC State University and from Chatham County Schools Central Services.
The target audience is parents/students currently enrolled in PreK-9th grade, but the meetings are open to anyone.
We hope that you will all be able to attend and be a part of helping with this important task.

North Chatham PTA will host a Thrift Shop work night, this Monday January 13th from 6:30-8:30. Please plan to join us!
Please join us for the first PTA meeting of the year. Tuesday, January 14th, the PTA will hold a working meeting from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the media center.
