Kindergarten
Extending the Learning at Home: Review this short video on community helpers. Talk to your student about how you decided on your job.
1st Grade
In this lesson students learn about the importance of working together to accomplish a goal.
Extending the Learning at Home: Try out this "Saving Sam" activity. It requires team members working together to get a gummy worm into a lifesaver using only 1 paper clip. Instructions are found here.
2nd Grade
In this lesson students learn about the benefits of a college education.
Extending the Learning at Home: Watch this fun music video from First Lady Michelle Obama about the benefits of a college education. Talk to your student about postgraduation training options in the community.
3rd-5th Grades
In this lesson students will understand their personal interests. Students will also learn how to navigate the Xello platform.
Extending the Learning at Home:
- Tell your student how your interests relate to your job. Ask your student about their interests and explain how those can connect with future work
- Ask your student to show you Xello and the activity they completed

The need for Web and Digital Interface Designers is projected to grow 6.7% by 2024 in Lancaster County. This career requires at least an Associate's degree with an entry salary of $40,720 and a median salary of $54,680 in Lancaster County.
Local Postsecondary Training Option
Many local colleges offer training related to the Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications pathway but none more than Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. This 4 year college, located in the heart of Lancaster City, offers degrees in everything from Fine Art to Animation to Photography.
