Projects For Syria
New for the week of Saturday, Sept. 1st
Our two current projects:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amaal Project: Our aim is to form and professionally train a team of men and women to help counsel refugees who were victims of rape. Rape is a regularly used tool of war against men, women and children by the Assad regimes militias. We are currently in the process of acquiring a 'safe haven' in Jordan where we will counsel these victims and help to reintegrate them into society so they may have happy and healthy relationships.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Syrian Kids Interim Effort for Sanctuary (SKIES): This project has been approved by the U.S. government. It is a simple concept with a difficult implementation; our goal is to locate children in Syria who maybe under immediate danger and work with their parents in order to put them in a Syrian foster home, temporarily here in the United States. Our team of social workers will be conducting extensive interview processes with each family interested in fostering a child. When the conflict is over or at a time of the parents choosing we will safely return the child to his/her parents.
