Weekly Update
Arkansas Arts Academy K-6 Newsletter
September 12 - 16
Parent Teacher Conferences We look forward to parent-teacher conferences next week. This is a great opportunity for teachers to share academic progress, classroom observations, testing data, and social skills. Also, teachers look forward to hearing from parents about their child's experience with school, hearing about students' strengths, needs, behaviors, and learning styles. Please be sure to attend at your scheduled time or reschedule. We are shooting for 100% participation. | Multicultural Week We will recognize and celebrate the diverse cultures respresented in our region. Classes will work to deepen our understanding of the cultural diversity of AAA. Papa Rap will be on campus on Tuesday morning to lead a school wide assembly to help us celebrate. | Announcing Tie Tuesday - Starting Sept 13 I am starting a new tradition for our K-6 Campus. Tie Tuesday! Every Tuesday students may choose to wear a tie or bow. I will connect this day to soft skills that students need to be successful in life. For example, students will get brief reminders to be polite by saying 'please' and 'thank you'. We will address skills such as organization, time management, communication, problem solving, team work and so on through out the year. Wearing a tie or a bow will help us to take pride in our appearance and give us confidence to tackle these skills. |

We believe that an arts-based approach to learning promotes creative expression and an enhanced academic experience. Our mission is to provide a rigorous academic program with a purposeful integration of the arts. We challenge our students academically while providing them with an arts-enhanced curriculum.
Located in Rogers, Arkansas, we are an open-enrollment public charter school offering fine arts education to K–12 students. We are the second oldest and one of the largest charter schools in the state. Our goal is to make Arkansas Arts Academy a nationally recognized institution that will draw students from all over Northwest Arkansas, the state, and the region.
