Traditional Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Conferences for students on the traditional calendar will occur on February 4th. We would love to have 100% participation this evening for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences will begin at 4:00 and end at 6:00 p.m.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are the best way you can support your child's success. Conferences allow you to see your child's strengths and weaknesses and build a good relationship with teachers.

Progress Report Dates

The second semester has begun. This is a great opportunity for students to have a "restart" if they have struggled academically the first half of the year. The administration will be meeting with all students who are struggling academically and put them on an academic contract for the second half of the year.

Please look for Progress Reports at home on these days in February:

Year-Round Calendar: February 5th

Weekly Tutoring

BSMS offers FREE after-school tutoring to students on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:50-4:30. Tuesdays are for Math and Science. Thursday is for ELA and Social Studies. Students that attend tutoring should always log that they attended tutoring.

Chromebook Reminders

Please make sure that your child is coming to school with their Chromebook fully charged every day. Also, please understand that the computer your child is issued should last them their entire time at BSMS. Students need to take care of this piece of technology as if you purchased it. We have had a huge amount of damage to devices over the last few weeks.

Safety Updates

Safety is our top priority at BSMS. Please make sure that if you come to campus for any reason, that you wait to be buzzed into our school. Mrs. Taylor, the school receptionist, will ask you who you are and then buzz you into our school. This allows safety for everyone and ensures that visitors have a purpose for being on our campus.

Donations Needed

Flu season is upon us! If you are willing to donate Kleenex, Clorox wipes, and Lysol to our school we would greatly appreciate it. Donations can be accepted in the main office.

BSMS Attendance Concerns

We have a large number of students not attending school regularly, coming to school late, or checking out early. School attendance is critical, especially this time of the year. Unless your child is sick, they need to attend school every day, all day. Students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It is often difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent.

Join the PTO

The BSMS Twin Talons meets the 3rd Monday of each month from

5:45-6:45. Come out and join us. The next date for PTO is January 27th. (This change is due to the MLK Holiday.)
