BJH CLUBS MAKE BOXES FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

During the month of November, the Spanish club together with the JWAC, JNHS, and FRENCH CLUB, joined forces to involve their students in a community project to make boxes for underprivileged children as Christmas gifts. Our purpose was to take knowledge beyond the school by connecting students through an activity that allows them to meet, contrast and connect with a community in another geographical point where the culture, language and use of resources is different. As of December 6th we have already filled around 50 boxes and we still have a little more with personal hygiene items, toys and school supplies to fill about 5 more boxes. These boxes will be delivered this Christmas to the community of Duqueza in the Dominican Republic.

BEDFORD JUNIOR HIGH TEACHER OF THE YEAR JULIA SCHULZ

This year we are proud to announce Coach Schulz as this year's teacher of the year. Coach Schulz was selected by her peers to represent the handwork and dedication of all our amazing teachers. Coach Schulz has been a member of BJH since 2015 where she thrives as an English Language Arts and Reading teacher. She also coaches a multitude of sports for our girls athletic program.

ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

FRESHMAN GIRLS BASKETBALL

The freshman girls basketball team lost a nail biter Tuesday night to Euless, 26-27. We came out strong & aggressive offensively with Ella Trevino , Natalie Luna, Savannah Williams and Zoey Herring all scoring in the first few minutes. The game went into halftime tied, 17-17, although both teams played tough, physical defense that put them in bonus for fouls early. We did our job in the 3rd quarter, holding them to 4 pts while Jaylin Wilson scored 6 for us to get us ahead by 2. The fourth quarter was back and forth both ways, but we fell short at the buzzer.

8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

7TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

7th grade girls A team dominated Colleyville 39-22. Leading the way was London Morgan with 14 points, Sariyah Crater with 12 points, Charlotte Martinez with 5 points. Defense was led by Reagan Bennett, Jillian Smith, Genesis Morales, Kynlee Horn, Sydney Pietzsch, Emlyn Dibble and Alexis Tabor coming up with huge steals throughout the game. Coach Hurtado is so proud of all you girls. Keep up the good work.

Tuesday night the 7th Grade Lady Broncos team defeated Colleyville 20-18 in a double overtime sudden death finish. Offensive leaders were Tina Betancourt with 10 points, Aliya Johnson with 6, and Maddy Martinak and Eliot Bragg with 2 each. Maddy Martinak and Brooke McClain were defensive stoppers. The team played from behind the whole game until tying the game in the last quarter, played two overtimes and then sudden death where Aliya Johnson hit the game winning shot! I am very proud of the team and their determination to win.

7TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL

Monday night your BJH 7th Grade B team took on Colleyville Middle School. Coming out strong, the B team took an early-moment swing. Giving up a few second-chance rebounds Colleyville Middle School was able to outlast the Broncos of BJH. The 7th B team would love your support as we take on Hurst Jr High Monday at 5 pm.

With the second game of the night, your BJH 7th grade A team also took on Colleyville Middle School. Talk about scrappy play, your BJH 7th A team fought hard to pull out their first victory of the season. Down by one point at the end of the first three quarters, your BJH boys pulled ahead in the fourth quarter when it mattered to win the game 42-41. With an all-around outstanding effort by each player on the team, Coach Cooper would like to thank DJ, Miles B, Oliver, Daniel, Lorenze Jackson, Price, and Due. The offensive MVP is Manace, scoring 15 points and a big three-pointer late in the game to keep your Broncos in the game. The defensive MVP could've been the entire BJH 7th-grade team, but Coach Cooper has to give it to Anthony P. Please show up Monday @ 6:15 to cheer on the 7th grade A team as they take on Hurst Jr High.

8TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL
