Important Information...
-Thank you to everyone who took part in the AIR network testing this morning! We greatly appreciate your efforts. Thank you to Ms. Collins for organizing this event. All in all, it was a very successful endeavor.
-As students complete their pies on the ALEKS program, please let me know. I will be sure to buy a pie for the students!
-If you were asked for feedback on the "draft" for the spring AIR Testing dates...Please take some time to review these and provide feedback. Please talk with your grade levels and provide feedback by the end of the day on November 24.
-Frank Spirit wear orders must be turned into the office by November 24th. The office will be closed on Nov. 25th, 26th & 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
-Thanks for a great staff meeting! We will get the communication flowchart and the revised building alert levels to you soon. A giant thanks to Kristen for all of her work on this!:)
Also, as a reminder, we will not meet for our staff meeting on December 3. This will be your time to meet as a grade level/area to examine the data and determine strengths/areas of improvement. This is a great opportunity to critically examine the data (since it is not tied to teacher evaluation) and be truly honest about our practice and what we can do to make it better. After the December 3 staff meeting time, please remember to send me the answers to the "guiding questions" that your grade level/area answered about the data.
-We are currently using a lot of paper. Please be cognizant about the amount of paper that is being used. Earlier, I shared that our building budget is lower than where we would like it to be at this point in the year. We are ordering more paper, however, we will not be able to keep replenishing paper at the rate at which we are using it. Thanks for your help and understanding!
-Please do not distribute birthday invitations. Neither students nor teachers should be distributing birthday invitations in your class. As stated in our handbook, "Private birthday parties are not school-sponsored activities and therefore; invitations to such events may not be distributed at school. School employees are not permitted to share addresses or telephone numbers of students in the school for the purpose of distributing birthday invitations." It is important to be consistent with this. Thank you for your help!
-The STAR Testing window is set for November 30 until December 11. I wanted to let you know that we will be conducting SWARM the week of December 7.
-OSU/UM Spirit Day will be on Tuesday, November 24. Students and staff are invited to wear the colors of the team they support!
-Since it is now the middle of the 2nd quarter, please don't forget to use your gold coin and sign up to observe another classroom! This is a great way to share ideas! Please remember: The goal is to go visit 1 other classroom each semester!!!!!!
-Please continue to send good news phone calls down to me. These are a great way to positively connect with the families and the parents love receiving these calls!
-There will be a Digital Divide Presentation on cyberbullying on December 2. The presentation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2 at the Perrysburg High School Auditorium. It will be open to all parents, guardians, grandparents, childcare workers, youth ministers, home school parents, local private schools, etc. in the area. No children will be permitted to attend.
-Please continue to fill out and turn in Bucket Fillers. It is very special to have names turned in each day. This is a great way to recognize our outstanding students.
-Please also continue to fill up the Bucket Filling Board in the staff lounge!:)
-Please take a look at the Do Not Photograph list and please make sure to follow that throughout the year.
-I have finished the first round of OTES observations (except for a few walk-throughs). With that being said, I would like to have all 2nd round observations (for people going through the full OTES process) scheduled before we leave for Christmas break. We will need to have everyone who needs a 2nd round observation have that observation scheduled for me to come observe you in January/February.
-As a part of the Girls on the Run program, each team picks a Community Impact Project to give back to the community that supports them. TheFrank Team will be making posters to encourage the other 1200+ runners during the Girls on the Run 5K at the Shops at Fallen Timbers on Saturday, November 21st at 9AM. The Team welcomes anyone in the Frank community to cheer for the 5K participants, including our own 20 member team, in the Frank cheer poster area.
-Our next safety drill will be on Friday, November 20. This will be a teacher choice drill where the teacher has to decide whether to barricade/lockdown or evacuate.
-Our next Frank Talk will go home on Friday, November 20.
-Skate Night will be on Wednesday, December 2. All staff members are invited to attend.
-December 3 and 4: 3rd grade Fall ELA Testing.
-A Frank Talk will go home on Friday, December 4.
