Note from the Principal
This week we officially started the 2nd trimester of the school year.
Things that we can say goodbye to
- Beginning of the year jitters
- Really hot days (I think?)
- Halloween
- Missing summer
Things we can say hello to
- Feeling comfortable with school
- Cooler, crisper (and shorter) days
- The holidays and some longer breaks
- Starting to think about our new years resolutions
I want to express my gratitude for working alongside such an incredible community of teachers, staff members, and families. Thank you all for making it such a great first trimester back- lets keep the momentum going for the rest of the 2022 year.

Upcoming Events
Parent Teacher Conference Week
Our students in 4th & 5th grade will facilitate a Student Led Conference in the classroom where they reflect on strengths, challenges and goals they've set for themselves.
You should have received an email with sign up information from your child's teacher via email. If you haven't received anything, please contact your child's teacher directly or call the main office.
Remember that the school schedule will be 7:50-12:50 during conference days!
4th and 5th Rainbow Club 11/3
If your child wants to join, they can attend the first meeting Nov. 3, or any of the following meetings, at the wellness center during 4/5 lunch 12:00-12:40!
Scholastic Book Fair
Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Our fair will take place from 11/14-11/18 in our DW Library. View our flyer for more information in English o en Español
Please use this link to create an eWallet for your child, donate to your classroom teacher's eWallet, as well as VOLUNTEER! Thanks!

Arriving to School On Time
At 8:00, the gate on Texas street and on Missouri street will close. The only entrance after 8:00 will be the front door.
Any student who arrives after 8:05 am will need to get a late pass and we will mark a Tardy for them in the system. Just a reminder that more than 3 tardies is technically considered 'truant' with SFUSD.
Please reach out to Max directly if you have any questions.
Reporting an Absence or Tardy
- Your child's teacher
- Our office manager, Angela Leung [leunga3@sfusd.edu]
- Our family specialist, Anneliese Carter [sch497@sfusd.edu]
In the email state your child's name and why they are absent or late so that we can mark it as excused in our system.
**Just a reminder that 3 or more unexcused tardies or absences results in an automatic truancy letter home**
