Make Good Choices Day

On Friday, January 17, our high school students are kicking off a "Make Good Choices" Day as a tribute to Ms. Fee. In honor of this day and Ms. Fee, we are inviting all of our students and staff to wear either the color purple or your Ms. Fee T-shirts.

Nominate a Gananda Staff Member For Recognition!

Gananda PTO is seeking nominations from parents and students to recognize a Gananda staff member who has a positive impact on students, supports other staff, inspires those around them, or demonstrates any other positive traits. One staff member will be selected by the Gananda PTO and will be featured on the PTO webpage and the PTO Facebook Page. Additionally, members selected each month will also be invited to attend a luncheon at the end of the year as a thank you for their contributions. Any district employee can be nominated by emailing gpto@gananda.org. Nominations will be accepted until July 27, 2020.

Universal Pre-K Program Registration

Registration Information:

Registration for September 2020 UPK classes began on January 13, 2020. Registration packets are available on the Gananda website or by visiting the District Office located in the Gananda Middle School at 1500 Dayspring Ridge, Walworth, NY 14568.

Registration is open to all 3 and 4-year old children that reside in the Gananda Central School District until classes are full. To qualify for the UPK program your child must be 3 or 4-years of age by December 1, 2020. If your child will be 5-years old on or before December 1, 2020, they will not be eligible for the Gananda UPK program per the New York State Education Department. They will need to enroll in kindergarten or a private preschool program.

Class Offerings:

We currently offer a half day 3-year old morning program, and an afternoon 4-year old program, five days a week, Monday through Friday for our UPK students. We will also offer a full-day 4-year old program Monday - Friday.

Bussing:

All UPK students will be bused to school and back home at the end of their school day. Transportation is only provided to addresses within the Gananda CSD.

I heard....is it true?

Gananda Central School District recognizes the importance of communication with parents, community members, students and staff. While every effort is made to ensure that accurate information is shared, it is not uncommon for rumors or myths to be circulating throughout the community. As such, we have started a page on our website entitled, "Fact Checker Page." This page is dedicated to providing accurate information about GCSD. If you see or hear information about GCSD that you believe is inaccurate you can have it fact checked! Please send your contact information, the facts you would like checked, and where you found the information to Shannon Bergstresser, Public Relations Specialist, at: Sbergstresser@gananda.org. The first fact check: The turf field cannot be used for JV or Varsity Football Games. Is it true? Check out the answer on the Fact Checker Page!
