I owned a hair salon/med spa for 13 years and started my full-time Cosmetology teaching career a couple of years later. Before teaching full time, I worked for the Texas Cosmetology Commission Enforcement Division, as Texas State Inspector and Texas State Examiner. I inspected 1400 salons and 14 public Cosmetology schools and colleges, writing and serving violations to salons and school owners, making sure all the rules and regulations were being followed.
My 35 plus years of teaching Cosmetology has allowed me the opportunity to teach in many great schools; Dunbar High School, Monterey/Coronado High School- Lubbock ISD, Abilene High School, McKinney High School, Frenship High School, Director of Cosmetology at Vista College, and currently with Breckenridge ISD.
I have designed and built 3 Cosmetology schools and programs, also designed and built 4 hair salons. I previously owned a large private Cosmetology school in Lubbock, Tx., for 10 years, offering degrees in Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and an Instructor's license.
