Parents, we need your help. We are seeing some issues with students and their use of phones and social media after school hours. Please be sure you are monitoring them and and be aware of what they are viewing, what they are sending, and what they are posting. Many of them are not being kind and it's causing issues with students in classes. Phones are not allowed at school or on the bus. Being a kid (and a parent) now is hard! We work really hard to get students to be kind to everyone, to speak kind words, and to show kind actions. Your help and cooperation in speaking to your child at home is greatly appreciated. We need their focus at school to be on learning and growing as students. Interims went home last week so we are over halfway to the 1st 9 weeks report card. For our 4th & 5th graders who got a green note about their LEAP scores, if we didn't meet with you at Literacy Night, we will be setting up times to meet with you this week. We know our students can achieve their goals on LEAP when they are trying their best and focused on their learning. The new PowerSchool attendance program will begin sending out messages when your child is absent. Please be sure to turn in any Doctor's notes when they return to school. Doctor's notes can be sent directly to our fax @ 225-664-2282 or emailed to us in the office. Excuses will be verified unless they are sent directly to us at school.
