Send Us Your Lion Highlights!
We know there are many, many positive stories about Rush County Schools involving our students, teachers, staff, and programs that we don't always hear. If you have a positive story to share, please send the details to Kirah Banks, Community Relations/Communications Director, at lionsroar@rushville.k12.in.us. We also encourage you to send stories that include personal achievements of your child such as: attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, performing in a community play, earning Girl Scout badges, serving as a volunteer in a non-profit organization, etc., etc. You might just see your story in a future edition of the "Lions Roar" or in our local newspapers. We want to celebrate our Lions!
I am pleased that I have talked to Kirah Banks about this publication and she has agreed to do a bi-weekly Rush County Schools Newsletter. Anyone can submit pictures and articles on all our schools. We will send this every week to parents, post on social media etc. This will be an excellent way to get our message out to our community and surrounding area of all the good things going on here at Rush County Schools!

Building Projects Starting in Early March
You will start seeing construction projects taking off in early March as Rush County Schools will begin making much needed improvements to the Laughlin Center, Memorial Gym and Benjamin Rush Middle School. The projects include the removal of the glass atriums at the Laughlin Center and Memorial Gym. The glass structures have been leaking for several years and are energy inefficient. These renovations will create new entrances for those buildings.
BRMS will be receiving a new glass curtain wall above the front doors. These windows have had several leaks over the years causing structural damage. BRMS will also have new boilers installed to replace the outdated and inefficient system.
The Auxiliary gym addition to Memorial Gym will be upgraded with air conditioning along with upgrades to the lobby, bathrooms and locker room facilities. A new Athletic Directors office area will also be built on the south side of the building with a new entry way for safety and security.

- Mr. Mock and Mrs. Schroeder nominated Dawson Hauk and Devin Brown. Mr. Mock and Mrs. Schroeder said that Dawson and Devin were very helpful to them recently. A teacher was out without a substitute and Dawson and Devin stepped up and helped their respective classes run smoothly. They both helped with various technology issues and their classes ran more efficiently because of their actions!
- Coach Tush Nominated Denver Campbell. Coach Tush was proud to report that Denver recently helped someone who was in front of him in the line at the concession stand. The person ordered their things and then realized they didn't have the money to pay. Denver did not hesitate at all. He paid for the person's order without any questions asked. Coach Tush says, "A little kindness goes a long way!"
- Keyera George was nominated by Mrs. Carmony. Mrs. Carmony says that Keyera is an outstanding student who goes above and beyond with every task in Child Development. Keyera is respectful, responsible, and ready to learn every day. Keyera is a wonderful example for other students to follow!
- Gracie Pharis and Grace Jarman were nominated by Mr. Perin. Mr. Perin was thankful because Gracie and Grace were extraordinarily kind to his usually reticent three-year-old granddaughter Avery, who adores the RCHS cheerleaders. These two wonderful young ladies had Avery join them several times over several games. Avery couldn't have been happier!
