Stonegate Spotlight: Kindergarten
It has been a wonderful start to kindergarten! We have been exploring our school and classrooms while learning procedures and creating expectations. Our classroom communities continue to grow with kindness as we build friendships and learn about each other. We are learning about numbers and different ways to represent them. Additionally, our classroom communities are spending time building a strong foundation of healthy reading and writing habits in workshop. We are looking forward to encouraging each other and supporting our school at our annual PTO Jog-A-Thon on September 26th!
Thumbs Up for Camp T!
Jog-A-Thon is Coming Soon!
We are gearing up for a fantastic Jog-A-Thon on Wednesday, September 25th (rain date Friday, September 27th)! Donations have started rolling in - we are almost at $1,000 already! Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support math and literacy materials, technology, enrichment grants, field trips, and special projects for each grade. To do that, we are challenging each student to raise $50 in donations. 100% of the donations collected by Stonegate students will directly impact our school. Money and pledge forms should be returned by Friday, October 4th. To donate online, https://www.schoolpay.com/link/JAT2019
Every student who brings in $50 in donations ($25 for preschoolers) will be awarded a running shoe keychain they can decorate!! Prizes will be awarded every Friday. The first round of keychains were awarded this week!
Jog-A-Thon is a success because of our volunteers! We need your help cheering on the kids, helping them stay on the course, marking their shirts for each lap completed, and handing out water. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE A FULL BACKGROUND CHECK. To volunteer, please visit https://sge.ivolunteer.com/jat_2019 You can be a classroom volunteer and help with your child’s class or you can be an event volunteer. Both ways to volunteer allow you to be on the course cheering on your kids and their classmates. So if one is full, pick the other!
The Jog-A-Thon schedule is divided into 3 sessions. Students will walk or jog around a 1/4 loop in front of the school (we block off the streets around The Commons). The preschoolers and kindergarteners will walk for 30 minutes while the older kids will walk for an hour. Including warmup and cooldown, the schedule is as follows:
- 1st and 2nd grades 8:15am - 9:45am
- Preschool and Kindergarten 10am - 11am
- 3rd and 4th grades 12:15pm - 1:45pm

Did You Know?
ZCS, like other public schools, has a no-idling policy for vehicles on campus. The purpose of the policy is to limit vehicle emissions that might be brought into the schools and adversely impact the health of our students and staff. If you are stopped on campus for more than 5 minutes, please remember to turn off your engine. We thank you for abiding by this policy to help reduce the exposure to these emissions.
