Warner Update
Making a difference, one person at a time
Together
Over eight years ago I began at Warner. Many things happened during that first year. Some things were extremely difficult. One, Katie's husband, Bob Powers passed away and Katie was out for multiple months. Two, our community lost a grandparent of two students with a horrible accident that occurred right before school started on M60. These both occurred during the first nine weeks of my first year.
I still remember, as a building moral was low, and as a staff the mood was very somber.
I remember having an impromptu meeting in the lounge. It was at that point I shared all of the great things I had heard about Warner. What makes Warner special is that when difficult times occur we are family. We pick each other up. We rally around each other. It was during this meeting that I encouraged everyone to prove what makes us special. It was time to pick each other up in very trying times.
Those memories come back to me when life gets tough. I've watched moments occur this year where we've picked each other up. Whether it was a staff member covering for another in a time of need, a card letting someone know how important they are, or rallying together as a family and having each others backs. Eight years ago I was told that Warner is special, and you all continue to walk the walk. I'm proud to walk beside you each day.
