Tomorrow, Friday, January 8 will be our School to Home Learners Pick-Up day for supplies and learning materials your child will need at home. Tables will be set up on the front porch of the school off of Marchman Way. Your child's teacher will notify you if you have items to pick-up. There will be art supplies from Mr. Lozano students will need.

College and Career Week is coming up January 11. Be sure to check out the information from our amazing counselor, Mrs. Toler.
We have the opportunity to nominate for PTA Lifetime Achievement. Please take a moment and recognize someone who makes a difference in our children's lives. More information below.

IMPORTANT: Please read our district Covid Protocols beginning January 5. Working together we can keep our students, happy, healthy, and here (Face to Face or School to Home) learning! Wearing the proper mask can determine whether your child will need to quarantine or return to school in determining 'Close Proximity'.

COVID PROTOCOL UPDATES
As of January 5:
As always we will continue to practice social distancing in class, halls, and on our bus. We will continue to practice handwashing and wearing our masks. Desk partitions are in place between desks as well. Thorough cleaning and disinfecting also contributes to our Face to Face school environment to be a safe place to be. To date we have not had a student transmit the Covid-19 virus at school to another student.
In regards to quarantining during the second semester we will be looking at the following protocols in determining which students need to be quarantined; rather than the entire class:
Changes Regarding Quarantine
The close contact definition will change to allow those who are ‘properly masking’ to avoid being sent out on quarantine… proper masking is defined as wearing a multi-layer face covering (layers that can be pulled apart – so not gaiters that are one layer, one-layer masks, etc.) that fits around the nose / chin. For more information on the safest masks for your child to wear:
CDC guidance: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-guidance.html
The quarantine period for close contacts will be revised – meaning that a student/staff member who is identified as a close contact will only have to stay out for 10 days instead of 14. The gold standard is still 14 days, but in an effort to get kids back in class and staff back to work, CDC is allowing the 10-day return. At the 10 day mark the person must be symptom free before they can return and continue to monitor for symptoms through day 14; if they develop symptoms, they will remain on quarantine.
This message includes updates on the COVID-19 response from CDC. The COVID-19 Outbreak is a rapidly evolving situation and information will be updated as it becomes available.
