Sora is an ebook and audio book platform you access through Egg Harbor Township Schools. You can add even more books to the platform using your Atlantic County Library card. Elementary Level Resources Grades PreK - 5

Storyline Online

Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. Teachers use Storyline Online in their classrooms, and doctors and nurses play Storyline Online in children’s hospitals.


Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.

ClassHook

ClassHook is an online-based tool that is collaborative in nature and offers short two- to six-minute video clips. These clips are taken from TV and movies, and have been shortened and organized for use in class and at home. ClassHook lets you use the power of movies to teach and makes learning more fun!

Virtual Book Fairs Coming to the Swift/Slaybaugh Complex

Students, parents, staff, friends, and neighbors will have the opportunity to develop their home libraries and support their school libraries through the Swift/Slaybaugh Libraries' VIRTUAL Book Fair October 18th-October 31st! Stay tuned for information about this exciting event and how you can participate! (The Davenport Libraries will hold their virtual book fair in November.)

AAMS Library Media Center is Back in Business!!

The Alder Avenue Middle School Library Media Center is happy to have a sense of normalcy this year. Kids are reading like crazy, book circulation is up, and we have been booked solid and busy, busy, busy... all while social distancing!!

Hispanic Heritage Month at Fernwood Library

Fernwood Librarian, Mrs. Lenko and Spanish teacher, Senora Dilks, worked together to create this bulletin board celebrating Hispanic Heritage month. The board celebrates books written by Hispanic authors and/or featuring Hispanic characters, and of course, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
