MZE is on YELLOW status
We know that masks are not mandated by the school district for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. However, we would like to be in school for as long as possible and for our staff to be as safe was possible while we are in school. We have staff members that are in the high risk category and we would appreciate it if all students would wear a mask. We appreciate your support.
Thank you Dr. Quimby and Mandy Quimby for Catering Lunch on Friday for the Staff. It was a great pick me up after a long week! Tacos Cancun hit the spot and we appreciate it!
MZE mitigation plans
Our plans have not changed however, due to COVD fatigue there has been some complacency in following the plans. This is completely normal however we have been renewing our efforts to follow the plans. This included mask wearing reminders. All students 3-5th grade and all staff must wear a mask throughout the day. If physical distancing can occur then students may take a mask break. This includes recess. Many students are socializing in groups during recess and not physically distancing and our recess monitors are providing a lot of gentle reminders for students to wear their mask.
Masks need to cover the nose and mouth to be effective.
Again, these plans are not new, however we are providing more reminders now than we have especially as cases rise.
Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade are not required to wear a mask but are highly encouraged to wear one. We appreciate your support with this,. WE truly want to remain in school and avoid remote learning for as long as possible.

Helping your child stay on track when absent from school
The borough COVID cases are rising and we are now at high risk level as a borough. It will become harder to keep schools open as cases increase and we need your help.
Has you child displayed any COVID related symptoms?
Is your child considered a close contact to someone that has COVID?
Students need to wear Appropriate gear for the weather
We have seen our first snowfall and this is our reminder that the temperatures are going to soon require students to have snow pants, boots, hats and gloves in addition to their jackets. Students go out in rain, snow, or sunshine and we go outside in temperatures up to 10 degrees below zero. Please make sure your students are ready!
The mask breaks students can take outside are important so please help make sure your students have all the appropriate gear.
