Have you ever been outside in the summer and seen a small flash of red and green stop at a flower for a few seconds and then take off again? if the answer is yes you have just seen a ruby throated hummingbird.Ruby throated humming birds are the samllest bird in ohio and the only hummingbirds species regularly found in ohio.They are about three and a half inches in length with four inch wingpan and weigh less than a penny.Male and female ruby throated hummingbird differ slightly in apperance.
