Early Life

King was born in 1929 in Alanta , Georgia in a religious family . King had a religious upbringing and a religious education , he intended to pursue in a career in law or medicine. After graduating from brooker T . Washington highschool at the age of 15. King then graduated from morehouse with a bachelor arts degree in 1948 .

Getting invloved

Kings first experience was in 1955 when Rosa parks refusal to move to the back of the city bus . On December 1 1955 two organizations the national association of colored people and the women's council proposed that African Americans boycott city buses to protest racist polices and Rosa perks arrest , the 26 year old King was elected to coordinate the boycott .

  • In November 1956, the supreme court ruled in favor of the MIAS case for desegregation . The boycott ended December 20 1956 , the bus companies agreed to allow all bus travelers the same rights to any vacant seats. King remains the most widley known as the African-American leader of his era , he was the most public to face the civil rights movement

Aftermath

King received a nobel prize in 1964 for his leader ship role in the civil rights movement , and was assactinated in 1968 while supporting a strike in Memphis tennasee .The movement altered relationships between the states and federal government and persuaded federal courts to protect constitutional civil liberties. This movement benefited the disabled victims , women , and social justice threw out the 20 century

On April 4 1968 MLK was assassinated and was shot in the head standing on the balcony on the 2 floor in Memphis Tennessee , this action created even more violence in resulting more than 40 deaths ,
