Social Media Do's and Don'ts
Tips for having a positive online experience
DO'S: What SHOULD You be Doing?
1. DO be a role model for others
You don't want something bad that you posted a long time ago to disappoint your friends and family if it comes up again.
2. DO be choosy
Only accept requests from people you actually know!
3. Do be creative and positive!
Be creative in how you post, show your work off to your friends and family, and release your creativity.
Also, if you see something that you like on someone else's social media, comment, double tap, and tell them that you like it! Being interactive with others in a positive way will give you a more positive experience.
DON'TS: What SHOULDN'T You be Doing?
1. Don't Try to be someone you aren't
Before posting something on social media, make sure to ask yourself, "is this something I would say in person?"
Don't try to be anyone but your awesome self! That's what your friends and family love you for!
2. Don't believe everything you read!
Make sure that before you believe something that someone has posted, especially if it's important information, that you find at least one other source that backs up the info!
Consider the author and the source before putting your trust into something! This will make your experience on social media a lot more genuine.
3. Don't let it take over your life!
But... if we spend too much time on social media, it may affect your relationships with your family and friends, and can get you off track with homework and important assignments!
Make sure you're using social media for an appropriate amount of time, a balance between online life and in-person life is so important!
