Perkiomen Valley Athletics
Week of September 27
Fall Sports
Well I have officially experienced my first Perkiomen Valley versus Spring-Ford football game and it certainly lived up to the hype. A big congratulations to Coach Heist, his staff, and the players for their 28-22 victory on Friday night! I would be remiss if I did not also thank all those who helped make the event a success. Donna Fox and Tim Walsh played a huge part in planning and preparation for this event. Dr. Moss, Mr. Berk, Mr. Stanson-Marsh, and Mrs. Baker were also super helpful in helping prepare for the game. Lastly, thank you to all the game workers and Josh Bertholf and his grounds crew for their preparation as well. Not to be outdone by the football team, the boys' soccer team also had a huge win over Spring-Ford last week with an impressive 3-1 victory and they added to their success with two more victories to bring their record to 7-2 on the season.
This week will continue to be a busy week as all 8 of our girls golfers will compete in the PAC championships Tuesday at Gilbertsville. Monday, our boys golfers will have their PAC championships at Gilbertsville and Tuesday our boys team will take part in a 3 team tie-breaker with PJP and Methacton to make the final four. This will take place at Macoby Run and the top two teams will make the final four to take place later in the week. We also have two senior nights this week as Thursday will be senior night for boys soccer in the stadium and Friday night will be senior night for volleyball. We hope to see you at a PV event in the near future and as always, thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Robert L. Felty Jr.

Unsung athletes of the week: Without a doubt, this week's unsung hero recognition goes to our very own #1 Varsity player, Gracie Strohecker!! She defeated PJP's #1 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 on Monday. She played her ABSOLUTE PERSONAL BEST MATCH in 4 years on Tuesday, beating West Chester Rustin's top player 2-6, 6-0, 6-2, took an easy win against Pottsgrove on Wednesday 6-0, 6-0, and then continued to represent PV well in the PAC Singles Championship Tournament on Friday and Saturday! She came back on Saturday to play off for a chance at 5th place, however lost 10-3 to Spring-Ford's #3 singles player, Cady Krause who took the 5th Place medal.
