Adobo
Adobo is meats rubbed in crushed peppercorns, oregano, garlic, salt, olive oil, and lime juice or vinegar, and they roasted.
Sofrito
Sofrito is a potpourri of many things, these things are: onions, garlic, coriander, and peppers. Then it is browned in olive oil or land and then colored with achitoe.
lechón asado, or barbecued pig,
Lechon is pig that is blasted with sour orange juice and colored achitoe. Green plantains are then peeled and roasted over hot stones. Finally served with barbecued pig as a side dish.

In San Juan "El Morro" is a old military outpost that is said to date back to 1539 and is the oldest Spanish fort in the New World.
Not only historic El Morro looks over the Atlantic and is filled with picnickers in weekends.
El Yunque Rainforest
El Yunque is a rainforest five and a half hours from San Juan and to get there you travel along a scenic route.
Home to over two hundred and forty species of plants and animals El Yunque is beautiful with waterfalls, hiking trails, and streams.
Sun Bay
In Vieques Sun Bay is a half mile half moon public beach east of Esperanza.
Sun Bay includes a cafe and all the other facilities one could hope for.
Rarely busy Sun Bay has shady palm trees and a gentle surf

The Noche de San Juan festival is a week long celebration of the islands patron saints filled with fireworks a fun on the beach. The Noche de San Juan festival held at the end of June is well worth it.
