Covid update
- When positive cases are reported, Mrs. Haas first works closely with the Health Department to conduct contact tracing and identify individuals that need to quarantine.
- The individuals who are required to quarantine are notified by the school. We also share contact information for those individuals with the health department. It has been our experience that the health department also contacts those individuals, or their parents.
- We have made it our practice to notify the entire school community of a positive case on campus. We recognize that this information is a bit unsettling to receive; however, we are notifying parents when cases arise as a means of having the highest level of transparency. Upon receiving this notification, please trust that if we have any reason to believe that your child was exposed, you would have received separate notification.
We continue to follow the highest level of protocols to ensure our campus is as clean and healthy as possible. Temperature checks are taken for all staff and students daily; all persons on campus wear masks; students remain in their homeroom for all academic subjects (with very few exceptions); student desks are spaced out and desk shields or plexiglass are in every classroom; only one grade level goes to the cafeteria per lunch period; Mrs. Loomis works hard to sanitize our building throughout the school day.
Again, we will continue to maintain the highest level of standard in regards to covid protocols. Thank you to our families who have done a great job of keeping students home when they are sick, providing doctor's notes for students to return upon our request, etc. Please keep in mind that if a member of your household is tested for COVID, we ask that you keep your child(ren) home from school while awaiting the results. We thank you for your assistance in this matter.
