A Word From Mrs. Loor
The fifth graders will be finishing up NJSLA testing this week in science. Thank you for supporting us at home by having your children come to school on time and rested these past 2 weeks. We appreciate it!
This Thursday, we will have the Fourth and Fifth Grade Concerts at 6 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively. I am looking forward to seeing our students perform!
Please read below for new updates from Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Zanelli.
Have a great week!
With Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Loor

Kindness Crew
Our final Kindness Crew drive is to help fund our Read to the Dogs program and support the local vets who take care of the animals in our neighborhoods. We are running a Pennies for Puppies (or Dollar for Dogs, if you are so inclined) with all funds going to The Seeing Eye in Morristown. In addition, we are collecting old towels, sheets, and bedding that will be donated to the Union Animal Hospital to provide comfort to animals in their care. This collection will run from Monday, May 22 - Friday, June 2.
Book Borrowing ends THIS Friday
Our last day to borrow books will be Friday, May 26 and ALL BOOKS ARE DUE TO THE LIBRARY by Friday, June 2. If your student has overdue books, you will receive an email notification and then a paper notice. If the book is lost, please purchase a replacement from your preferred book vendor.
Summer Reading Program
Ms. Aymer of Summit Public Library will be visiting all classes on Monday, June 5th to introduce the All Together Now! summer reading program. If you can, I hope you will encourage your young readers to take part in their program!

Reminders
- As a reminder: to ensure that we include everyone and accurately provide class placement for all students, we ask that you notify Mrs. Napoles in writing, if you do not plan to return to Franklin in September. Please let us know by June 14th.
- As a public service announcement, please be mindful of where you are parking at dismissal. The Summit Police have been issuing summons to those parked illegally. You cannot park on either side of Blackburn Road between Blackburn Place and Warwick Road and behind the crosswalk on Blackburn Road and Blackburn Place. Thank you for your cooperation.
- We are outside every day for recess weather permitting and we utilize all of our fields as much as possible. Please remember as per board policy 7490, animals are not allowed on school property without prior notice and permission. It also includes arrival and dismissal. This is for the safety and security for all of our students. It would also be amazing if you could pass the word along for all pet owners who live in the area to please clean up after their animals.
- The playground is solely for school use from 8am-3pm. I understand that you may be arriving at school earlier for dismissal, but the playground equipment is not available to the public until after school is over.
- If your child will not be in school, please email or call Mrs. Napoles.
- Children should not be bringing toys, Pokemon cards, etc to school unless it is for a specific school-related activity such as a special share day.
- Any forgotten items that need to be dropped off must be labeled with the child's name and teacher's name and left on the table in the security vestibule past the front entrance.
