Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Greetings to you all.
Welcome to the final term for 2023 with just 40 school days left in the year! Term 4 is a busy and fun term with lots of celebrations and special events to look forward to. In case you’ve misplaced your calendar, a digital version can be accessed here.
It’s great to see a quick uptake in hat wearing this term, many thanks for your support with this. We have ordered new shade sails for the sawdust pit and village courtyard which will be installed in the next couple of weeks. The pool has been repainted and will be open for class swimming from Week 3 onwards. Teachers will advise when they plan to start class swimming as this will vary with age and other calendar commitments.
The leadership team are currently working on plans for 2023 including class placements. We would appreciate knowing if anyone is not planning to return in the new year. If this is the case, please contact the school office as soon as possible.
We are noticing an increase in damage to school property over the last few months. Our community has worked hard to provide quality school facilities and the board welcomes the community to use these out of school hours. We ask you to help us put a stop to the senseless acts of a few individuals by reporting any incidents to the office or myself with details of date and time. This information will help us to identify offenders using our recorded CCTV footage. We also remind community users of our grounds that dogs, skateboards and bikes are not permitted.
Remember to pop down on Tuesday to support the kids in the School Athletics Day if you are able to.
Enjoy the long weekends ahead!
Ngā manaakitanga,
Symon Beattie
