SPECIAL CARDS FOR OUR ICCS GRANDPANTHERS

The annual ICCS Grandparent Day event is always a special time for our students and their loved ones. Unfortunately, due to COVID risks, we were unable to host the event this year. In an effort to make our ICCS "Grandpanthers" feel special and loved this holiday season, students have created heartfelt cards that need to be delivered to their Grandparents or special friends over the Christmas break. Parents are asked to help their children with this task. For more information about this project, please contact our Director of Religious Education, Rose Viau at rviau@iccsweb.com.

KINDERGARTEN LEADS ADVENT BLESSING THIS WEEK

Our Kindergarten students, along with Father Sam Bond, led the school-wide Advent Blessing this week. This is the 3rd week of Advent. In an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy, a pre-recorded video was produced and shared with all students in their classrooms on Tuesday.

A link to the presentation is provided below. The video was produced by Mrs. Virginia-Kate Jessen's Middle School Video Production Enrichment class. It features our Kindergarten students, as well as our 5th Grade students performing the beautiful hand bell music you'll hear in the background. Excellent work, students!

CLASSROOM AND SCHOOL NEWS

LEARNING ABOUT THE VIRTUE OF HOPE

Our 3rd Grade students have been learning about the Virtue of Hope. During a special activity led by Mrs. Viau this week, the Theological Virtue of Hope was represented by an anchor. A ship is held in place by an anchor. Our lives are anchored in Christ. Jesus is our Captain. No matter what storms we face, Hope is anchored in our Captain, Jesus Christ.

WHAT IS THAT?

ICCS Computer Technology Teacher, Mrs. Frances Davis shared a very interesting piece of equipment “from the past” with her students today. Kids of all ages were totally intrigued with this antique typewriter and enjoyed trying it out.

CONGRATULATIONS AR SUPERSTARS

We are developing great READERS and LEADERS at ICCS! Check out the Immaculate Conception Cathedral School Facebook page for updates and photos of some of our students who have recently achieved AR Superstar status. Keep up the excellent work everyone!

THANK YOU!

The ICCS Administration, Faculty and Staff are very appreciative of the wonderful Christmas goodies and gifts we have received. We are grateful for our students, their families and the ICCS supporters in the community. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

PRAYER AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS

O Mary, you shine continuously along our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
