Happy Friday Creekers!
Last Friday we had an all school assembly to honor Veteran's Day! We were honored to have several Veterans and active military personnel in attendance. The students learned about the meaning of Veteran's Day, sang several patriot songs, and kicked off a letter writing campaign for Veterans that have a connection to the students and staff at Mill Creek.
Thank you to all the men and women that have or are currently serving our country!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy Adelman
Assistant Principal
Mill Creek's Holiday Project 2018
The staff and students of Mill Creek Elementary School will be participating in a holiday giving project by helping to provide support to several families in the Mill Creek community.
We will not be making food baskets this year. Instead, we will be providing support to families in other ways.
How can you help us raise money?
Children can do a random act of kindness or a chore at home to earn money. That money can be donated to our project. There will be jars in the main lobby for children to put the money they earned. Contributions will be collected beginning Monday Nov. 26 through Friday Dec 14.
There will be a giving tree in the main lobby. Please consider taking a tag and donating a $10.00 gift card to Walmart or Target. Please return the gift cards to Ms. Budniewski RN, school nurse no later than Friday Dec 14.
If you are aware of any family that may benefit from our project, please call Ms. Budniewski, our school nurse. She can be reached by phone at 267-893-3615 or email at kbudniewski@cbsd.org .
We appreciate your voluntary participation in this worthwhile project. We truly believe that in giving we also receive, and helping others immeasurably enriches our children’s lives.
Sincerely,
The Mill Creek Staff

Information from Mr. Losch - Mill Creek Band Director
From: Mr. Losch – Mill Creek Band Director (10/24/18)
To: Mill Creek Band Parents
Subject: 6th Grade Band Rehearsals
Dear Band Parents,
Each December, a tradition at Mill Creek has been to present a Winter Holiday Concert. This show will include the Sixth-Grade Concert Band, in addition to the 5th & 6th Grade Orchestra and Mill Creek Chorus. This program will be presented to the Mill Creek students and staff on the morning of Tuesday, December 18th at 9:00am.
Because this program is geared more for the Mill Creek students, you are welcome to attend a second performance just for the family and friends of the Mill Creek performers. This performance will be held in the Cafeteria/All-Purpose Room on Tuesday, December 18th at 7:00pm.
For this special occasion I have set aside six rehearsals for the Sixth Grade Concert Band that should provide a sufficient amount of time to prepare for the upcoming program. Because of the many activities that already take place during the day, all the rehearsals will be taking place before the school day. Your child will require a ride to school for each of the morning rehearsals listed below.
Monday, November 12th at 7:45am
Monday, November 19th at 7:45am
Monday, November 26th at 7:45am
Monday, December 3rd at 7:45am
Monday, December 10th at 7:45am
Tuesday, December 18th at 7:45am
I realize the inconvenience this may cause, but your child’s attendance is necessary for a successful performance. Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Some students have already expressed an interest in carpooling with others. So, if you have any questions, feel free to call me at Mill Creek (267.893.1564), or email me at plosch@cbsd.org. I teach at Mill Creek on Mondays.
Should inclement weather cause a delayed school opening on the day of an early morning rehearsal, that rehearsal will be rescheduled for later in the day when classes are in session. Thank you again for supporting your child’s interest in instrumental music. They are a pleasure to work with!
Sincerely,
Mr. Paul Losch
