Just a reminder, no visitors on state testing days.
MAP Testing Information
During the testing window of April 16th-April 27th, students in third, fourth, and fifth grades will take the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test in the areas of Math, Reading, and Language Usage. This adaptive assessment is used to inform teachers of each student’s ability in multiple areas and to help us monitor student growth over time. The data provided by MAP assessments also gives our teachers important information that is used for planning lessons to meet the unique instructional needs of each student.
Although the MAP test is not an assessment that you can prepare for by studying, there are a few things that parents can do to help ensure that students are prepared and ready for testing. Please make certain that your child is on time to school, well rested, and has eaten a good breakfast each day they test. Thank you in advance for your support and assistance as we work together to help ensure the success of our students.

Laptop Collection 5th Grade (May 4th)
Students may begin to bring laptops back on Monday, April 30th-Friday, May 4th. The reason for having laptops in the classroom and staying in the classroom is to get ready for state testing. 5th grade will do all state testing on their laptops and to insure that all laptops are safe and charged we are requiring them to be collected the week before testing. Students can begin leaving their laptop (Device, Charger, and Bag) any day between April 30th and May 4th. Everything is due back by May the 4th.

Attendance Policy
This is an important new attendance regulation our school district will be following this year and going forward!!
The United States Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) defines an “Absent Student” as one who doesn’t attend 50% of the instructional day”.
Keeping this state law in mind, if your child arrives at school at 7:45 am they must be in class until 11:05 am in order for them to be counted present for the day.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office.
